Roughly 400 tickets remain for any Razorback men’s basketball game this upcoming season, Arkansas Athletics Director Hunter Yurachek told members of the Little Rock Touchdown Club during his appearance on Monday.
Fresh off the now-No. 8 Hogs’ big win over Texas A&M in Dallas, Yurachek revealed on Monday that Bud Walton Arena is very close to being completely sold out for all games in the 2021-22 season.
Yurachek had previously said that he is moving forward with renovation plans to Bud Walton Arena. Arkansas is coming off an Elite 8 season under Eric Musselman, the veteran former NBA coach who is entering his third year in Fayetteville, and demand for basketball tickets is higher than it’s been since the mid-1990s.
The UA has surveyed basketball season-ticket holders and Razorback Foundation members about premium seating options and potential renovations to Bud Walton. The university is studying the financial feasibility of adding more club suites and other changes to the arena, which holds more than 19,200. Built in 1993, it is the fifth-largest on-campus arena in the nation.
Yurachek plans to go before the UA System Board of Trustees in November seeking permission to hire an architect.
