Justice Rhonda Wood will be running for reelection to the Arkansas Supreme Court.
Wood announced via social media her plans to seek reelection to the state’s top court in the 2022 election. “I look forward to hitting the campaign trail and to a vigorous campaign,” she said in a statement.
Wood holds position 7 on the Arkansas Supreme Court, a position she has held since being elected in 2014. She previously served as a judge on the Arkansas Court of Appeals and was appointed as a circuit judge on the 20thJudicial District by former Gov. Mike Huckabee and elected to the same position.
This is the latest candicacy announcement for the Arkansas Supreme Court. Justice Robin Wynne announced that he would be seeking reelection for a second term on the state Supreme Court in late May. Judge Gunner DeLay has declared his intent to seek Position 6 on the Arkansas Supreme Court, which is currently held by Associate Justice Karen Baker.
