The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation is introducing a new faith-based fellows program that aims to help state faith leaders support economic justice and anti-poverty movements.
Dubbed the Micah Fellows Program, this new program is a nine-month initiative that is focused on anti-poverty efforts and moral leadership. The program’s inaugural class period will run from September 2021 to May 2022.
During the program, the fellows will engage in media, advocacy and narrative training, in addition to receiving access to micro-grants for economic inclusion and justice projects.
“Governor Rockefeller’s mission to bring equity to all Arkansans was fueled by his faith, including the charge ‘act justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God’ from Micah 6:8,” Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation equity officer Reverend Shantell Hinton Hill said in a statement. “This scripture continues to inspire the foundation’s strategic direction, AR Equity 2025, and programs like Micah Fellows.”
This program has been funded through a $200,000 investment from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation and a $50,000 investment from the Methodist Foundation for Arkansas.
The deadline to apply for the Micah Fellows Program is July 1. Click here to apply.
