Welcoming Week NWA will be showcasing Northwest Arkansans’ diverse cultures, activating collection drives for local nonprofits, and strengthening connections within the community during a series of family-friendly events running Sept. 9 – Sept. 18.
Welcoming Week NWA will launch on Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. with an opening celebration at The Jones Center in Springdale, where guests can hear more about upcoming events and enjoy light refreshments.
Events include a screening and cast question and answer session for the award-winning film Land of Gold at the Thaden School, collection drives for Canopy NWA and other local organizations, a panel discussion on solidarity in racial justice at the University of Arkansas Collaborative and a closing celebration at CACHE Studios in Bentonville. Attendees will need to pre-register for some events.
Welcoming Week NWA is organized by EngageNWA at the Northwest Arkansas Council, which focuses on advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in the region.
