Walmart is expanding the number of third-party products that will be eligible for two-day shipping ahead of the holiday season.
The Bentonville-based retailer is aiming to make millions of items from third-party sellers eligible for free two-day shipping for orders that are $35 or more. In addition, Walmart is making the free two-day shipping feature available without a membership fee. Currently, two day shipping is available for limited items.
According to a company press release, Walmart is also working to simplify the process of returning third-party items. Returns will be able to be processed at any Walmart store by November.
Starting in November, consumers can return third-party items in two ways – online or in store. Customers can return items online by logging into their Walmart account, printing a return label and shipping the package to the seller.
To obtain a return an item in-store, customers will package the product for return and bring the item to the Services desk of one of Walmart’s 4,700 stores. Walmart will then ship the item to the seller, who will refund the customer.
