Walmart is extending its COVID-19 emergency leave policy for company associates. This policy will be extended through July 5, 2021.
The COVID-19 leave policy was first established in March 10 to provide employees with paid time off if they are required to remain at home for COVID-related reasons. This policy cites mandated quarantines, COVID symptoms or COVID-19 infection as reasons for remaining at home.
Absences that occur during approved COVID-related leave is not counted against associates, according to the policy.
Individuals who are unable to return to work after the two-week period may be eligible for up to 26 weeks of additional pay replacement. This policy applies both to full-time and part-time hourly associates.
