The Venture Center announced on July 29 that Gov. Asa Hutchinson will be joining FIS, Inc. Chairman and CEO Gary Norcross for a discussion of Arkansas’ role in the global financial technology (fintech) field at the Venture Center’s inaugural VenCent Summit on Tuesday, Aug. 16.
The VenCent Summit will be a forum for financial leaders, innovators and influencers from around the world, featuring industry keynotes, 70 live demos and unlimited networking opportunities. Gov. Hutchinson and Norcross will highlight some examples of successful startups that have benefited from the Venture Center’s programs, as well as opportunities for venture investment, workforce and economic development in the state. They will close the discussion by sharing their vision for Arkansas’s future as a global leader in fintech.
“Governor Hutchinson and Mr. Norcross have had a pivotal impact on the fintech space in our state and around the world,” says Wayne Miller, executive director of The Venture Center. “Their partnership and investment, especially through the award-winning FIS Fintech Accelerator, provide real world examples of how private, state and nonprofit entities can work together to create solutions in the financial industry, and how that landmark work can happen here in Arkansas and in any other state around the country.”
