Prominent entrepreneur Justin Urso will be leading the McMillon Innovation Studio at the University of Arkansas as its new director.
Urso brings a wide range of startup and entrepreneurial experience to his new role. He is a cofounder and strategy consultant at Concord Adams, which provides custom website design and development services. She also cofounded retail technology company Skosay in 2017 and cofounded Big Box Karaoke in Fayetteville.
In addition, he has served as a mentor to the University of Arkansas Office of Entrepreneurship, which oversees the studio, and the Delta I-Fund and has been a Walton College DREAM Advisor Board member since 2018.
“The McMillon Innovation Studio reaches a diverse, interdisciplinary population of students who are driven to use their time at the University of Arkansas to not just learn but to create meaningful change in the world,” University of Arkansas Office of Entrepreneurship executive director Sarah Goforth said in a statement.
Since March 15, Urso has served in his new role on a part-time basis but will be moving full-time “later this year,” according to a university release. Interim director Rachel Sullivant, who has served in this capacity since December 2020, will resume her previous role as assistant director, overseeing the studio’s design teams.
