The University of Arkansas has named a new chief information security officer.
Effective June 29, Stephen Tycer will oversee the security the university’s data and networks.
“We are fortunate to have someone with a depth of understanding in global cybersecurity join the IT Services team,” Steve Krogull, interim chief information officer said in a statement. ”Tycer will continue to provide leadership and strategy in the areas of IT security during a time of rapid change.
Before joining the University of Arkansas, Tycer served as the corporate security manager at Oil States International in Houston. In this role, he oversaw global information technology security strategy and managed security compliance and cybersecurity awareness.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Texas State University.
