The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in Conway launched its official ‘Day of Giving’ on Thursday, March 10. This year marks the eighth year for 24-hour fundraiser.
Day of Giving is a 24-hour fundraising drive that provides an opportunity to rally the university community and connect donors with specific programs and giving opportunities at UCA. During this time, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, friends and family are challenged to make a gift of any amount to support the campus.
UCA is inviting people to “join thousands of Bears around the world” in making a difference on UCA Day of Giving 2022. Supporters can donate funds to to the college, department or student organization that means the most to them.
“From the expansion of academic programs to the addition of new facilities, UCA is growing — and your gift makes it possible.”
Donors can give online, and UCA’s Student Government Association will host a Day of Giving table in front of the Ronnie Williams Student Center where they will collect student donations.
Donors can give to various funds such as UCA’s Annual Fund, which provides unrestricted support for areas of greatest need, benefiting all students; the Alumni Assistance Fund, which was created to help alumni make payments toward their UCA student loans; the Student Emergency Fund, which helps students pay for groceries, housing, utilities, reliable technology, auto repairs, medical expenses, etc.; and many more.
The fundraiser totals will be announced during a Day of Giving celebration at noon on Friday, March 11, at UCA’s Buffalo Alumni Hall. The event is sponsored by Centennial Bank.
Since its inception in 2015, the annual drive has raised more than $3.1 million.
