The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will be hosting its Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program online in June.
UAMS’ Mindfulness Program offers the training, which teaches mindfulness techniques. These techniques are designed to provide skills for addressing stress, illness and pain.
An eight-week program, the classes are meet weekly on Thursdays from 5:30-8 p.m. An orientation will be held Thursday, June 3 from 5:30-7 p.m. with an all-day class and retreat on Saturday, July 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979, MBSR is designed to provide guided meditation practices, stretching and movement exercises, foster group dialogue and more.
