NORTH LITTLE ROCK – Karen Trevino, Assistant Director of the North Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau, has been elected to a two-year term on the Southeast Tourism Society (STS) board of directors, according to STS President and CEO Bill Hardman.
STS, which is headquartered in Atlanta, promotes travel and tourism throughout the 12-state Southeast region. Tourism is within the top five industries of all member states, which include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. STS has 900 members who represent 27,000 professionals in state tourism departments, convention and visitors bureaus, attractions, accommodations, media and additional tourism organizations.
Trevino manages the North Little Rock CVB’s administrative/operations department. She served as executive director at the North Little Rock CVB (2003-2012) and taught hospitality and tourism courses at Pulaski Technical College’s Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management Institute for several years. She has a master’s in tourism and thirty years of tourism industry experience through work at the Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism and the Arkansas Hospitality Association.
