Startup Junkie, a business management consultant in Fayetteville, has recently announced that they are teaming up with The Venture Center, an entrepreneur support organization, to host the Techstars Startup Weekend at the Pryor Center in Fayetteville from Aug. 26-28. They are inviting anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit to join them in meeting expert mentors, facilitators, and fellow innovators, pitching startup ideas, and forming teams in one of three focus areas: Outdoor Recreation, Web3 or General.
Northwest Arkansas is a great place for startups, and Startup Weekend Northwest Arkansas hopes to make it better by giving anyone who is interested real experience in what the startup-process is like, no startup idea or previous experience necessary. Participants will learn cutting-edge methodology and presentation skills, followed by a chance to put those new skills to the test by pitching their startup idea to a panel of judges, where the top group in each field will win $5,000 and the chance to make their idea a reality.
“I’ve been a part of dozens of Startup Weekends and seen some significant successes. Billion dollar companies like Zapier and EquipmentShare won Startup Weekends before they gained enough traction to raise money from top investors worldwide,” says Jordan Carlisle, Director of Digital Health & Innovation at the Whole Health Institute and facilitator for the event.
Registration costs $35 per person and includes the cost of meals, workshops and mentorship opportunities. If you are a student or have design or developer experience, registration is only $20. To learn more, view the schedule or register, visit the Startup Weekend Northwest Arkansas Website.
