Hundreds of thousands of Summit Utilities customers are now getting an answer and resolution for why their energy bills were so high. The company confirms around 167,000 customers in Arkansas and Oklahoma were billed incorrectly.
According to Attorney General Tim Griffin:
“Summit’s leadership has assured me that they are making this right by their customers, and that no Arkansans will end up stuck with bills that are inconsistent with their energy usage. Any overcharges will be paid back to the affected customers. I will continue to monitor this situation, and I will make sure that Summit Utilities corrects this problem and issues any refunds necessary to impacted Arkansans.”
The company is currently not charging late fees or shutting off services for those who haven’t made a payment.
