Jordan M. Walters, M.D., has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) as an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
He is seeing patients at the UAMS Health Orthopaedic Clinic at 600 Autumn Road in Little Rock.
Walters is from Dover and obtained his undergraduate degree from Harding University in Searcy in 2012. He obtained his medical degree, with a 4.0 grade point average, from UAMS in 2016.
He then completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at UAMS, where he received the resident teaching award. He recently completed a yearlong orthopaedic and neurosurgical spine fellowship, also at UAMS.
As a specialist in spine surgery, Walters’ medical interests include degenerative disorders of the spine.
“I am excited to join the spine team at UAMS because of my fondness for this state and our patients and because I know from experience the dedication to patient care that will be provided at UAMS,” Walters said.
His research credentials include being part of the Arkansas IDEA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence, working as a research assistant at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System and participating in the UAMS College of Medicine Honors in Research Program.
