The University of Central Arkansas has named a new chair for its Department of Economics, Finance, and Insurance and Risk Management at the College of Business.
Tom Snyder, Ph.D., will be assuming role of department chair, effective July 1. Since joining UCA College of Business in 2010 as an assistant professor, Snyder has risen to become an associate professor and has served as the Resident Master of the EPIC Residential College, an entrepreneurship-based program.
“Tom has been an integral part of EFIRM, the Arkansas Center for Research in Economics and the College of Business for several years now,” Michael B. Hargis, Ph.D., dean of the UCA College of Business, said. “I know he will be the same in this new role.”
As a researcher, Snyder focuses on public policy, education and entrepreneurship. His work has been published in multiple journals, including the Journal of Entrepreneurship & Public Policy.
He obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics from Florida State University, along with a master’s degree and a doctorate from Florida International University.
