Dr. Thilla Sivakumaran has been named the interim vice chancellor for enrollment management (VCEM) at Arkansas State University. A-State Chancellor Kelly Damphousse announced the new appointment on Monday, Dec. 14.
“I appreciate Thilla’s willingness to step in during this interim period,” Damphousse said in a statement. “One of his many strengths is the ability to lead complex university operations. We are fortunate that he already has intimate familiarity with the enrollment management division because of his current duties.”
Sivakumaranwill replace outgoing VCEM Bryan Terry, who will be departing on Thursday, Dec. 31. Terry, the inaugural vice chancellor of enrollment management, has served in the role since January 2019 and is leaving to “pursue other consulting opportunities.”
In his interim role, Sivakumaran will oversee A-State’s international student recruiting program and national recruitment the university’s online program.
According to his A-State faculty profile, Sivakumaran currently serves as the vice rector of academic affairs for the Arkansas State University Campus Queretaro in Mexico, as well as the vice chancellor of global engagement and outreach. In his current role, Sivakumaran oversees the A-State University Centers at Arkansas community colleges, as well as the Queretaro campus.
Since joining A-State in 2012, he has served as the dean for the College of Education and Behavioral Science from 2012-2014 and was the executive director of global engagement and outreach from 2014-2020.
A search for a permanent vice chancellor for enrollment management will launch in 2021.
