Although the temperature is dropping and the halls require decking, business as usual is happening at Arkansas Money & Politics, and we show no signs of slowing down!
We were there in November when now presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg filed for the ballot in Arkansas, two weeks before his national announcement. After a phone call from his staff, I grabbed an editor and headed to the capitol in time to greet the business titan and former three-time mayor of New York City. It is the second time in just a few months my path has crossed significant names on the national stage. This time, I would shake hands with a billionaire presidential candidate who is sure to present an interesting run among the Democratic pool through the primary.
Concurrently, in another area of the capitol, my team was there to break the news of Arkansas Sen. Joyce Elliot’s bid to Congress. Elliott filed her candidacy for Arkansas’ 2nd Congressional District on Nov. 12. She will face Republican incumbent French Hill and Independent J. Glenn Smith in November’s general election.
AMP will keep abreast of upcoming candidates and elections as platforms and debates gear up after the New Year.
And I must note that a new year for AMP means more robust reports that dig deep into the stories of industry, business, health care, politics and more. My team has planned a number of features that will educate and shed light on Arkansas’ growing economy and diverse employment opportunities. We will tell you about the great men and women who influence the future and those who have something profound to share about the past. I could not be more excited about what is to come!
As always, AMP is here for your ideas, your insight and your accomplishments. I always encourage you to reach out to me and begin the conversation that helps you achieve goals for marketing and storytelling. Email me at hbaker@armoneyandpolitics.com, and let’s get started!
