After three years without a hospital in the area, Sevier County Medical Center plans to open by the end of this year.
On Saturday, the hospital hosted its grand opening celebration where Southern Girls Florist, Jennifer’s Designs, Tres Agaves Mexican Restaurant and Joanie Patterson donated items for the occasion.
The hospital reportedly has 10 rooms in its emergency department and 15 inpatient beds, as well as around 115 people employed at the facility.
Voters approved a sales tax increase to build and operate the new facility back in 2019, according to KSLA. The new hospital is a $24 million addition to the county.
Sevier County Medical Center is located at 960 Hwy. 71 N. in DeQueen. You can look back at the hospital’s progress on its Facebook page.
