Sam’s Club has revealed its first dedicated space for innovation, creation and collaboration, with a new design studio. The company plans to construct the new addition on its corporate campus, west of Moberly Ln. in Bentonville.
The studio will be a place where all associates are welcomed and encouraged to pitch, develop and curate new ideas for the betterment of the business.
The company says a new studio will allow for several advantages, like:
- Neutral space allows easier collaboration with external partners
- Workshop-based space puts innovators in the mindset of creation, not work
- Physical product and hardware testing without current space constraints
- Strong communication of the commitment to being a design-led organization with this investment and footprint
Sam Walton once referred to his company as an experiment. This design studio is the next step in continuing that journey, according to a press release from the company.
Sources say the expansion will be 34,000 sq. ft. and construction is expected to begin in early 2023 with completion anticipated by the following spring.
