Jason Rounds, MBA, FACHE, CHFP, has been named Chief Administrative Officer and Associate Vice Chancellor for Clinical Finance for UAMS Health. Rounds joined UAMS Health in his new role on Jan. 3.
Rounds will oversee day-to-day financial operations of UAMS Health, including financial analysis, reporting, capital budgets and management of productivity targets and effective staffing levels. The service line administrators will report to him, and he will oversee the clinical enterprise data analytics group, as well.
“Jason has a broad range of experience, including work at academic medical centers and expertise ranging from revenue growth and operational efficiencies to strategic planning, physician recruitment and compensation,” said Dr. Steppe Mette, senior vice chancellor for UAMS Health and UAMS Medical Center CEO. “We are looking forward to his thoughts and perspective on how to best navigate UAMS through the challenges ahead.”
Rounds has more than 30 years’ experience in health care and joins UAMS from CHRISTUS Health in Texarkana, where he served as president of CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System from 2018 until early 2021. He has also worked in administrative leadership roles with the University of Texas Health Center at Tyler and the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque. Rounds has a degree in health care sciences from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and a master’s of business administration from Centenary College in Shreveport.
