Roots Juices is now open in Little Rock’s Heights neighborhood at 5501 Kavanaugh Blvd.
The juice bar, which offers 24 different types of cold-pressed juices, along with snacks and cleanse kits, officially opened Sept. 12. Each bottle of juice is made fresh daily, and contains nearly 3 pounds of pressed fruit and vegetables.
“Juicing plays a huge role in a healthy diet by making it easy to consume the eight servings of fruits and vegetables recommended daily,” says Roots Juices founder Brent Rodgers.
“The juices at Roots Juices are produced on a hydraulic press, as opposed to a centrifugal juicer. A hydraulic press minimizes oxidation and releases more vitamins, minerals and enzymes into each juice. The nutrients in these juices have miraculous effects on overall health.”
The Little Rock location is the company’s third.
Other locations include Atlanta and Dallas. Nationwide shipping is also available, with free shipping in Arkansas on a $30 minimum purchase.
According to a news release, pressed juices have “about 50 times more nutrients than juice that can be purchase at a local market,” and benefits include increased energy, stronger bones, clearer skin and lower risk for disease.
The fruits and vegetables — which are sliced raw, masticated by machine and cold-pressed directly into the bottle with 18,000 pounds of pressure — are organic and local, when available. Little Rock Tomato is among the local suppliers.
Fortified waters and energy shots are also available. Cleanse kits feature six pressed juices and two fortified waters to be consumed throughout the day. Roots Juices offers more information and consultation on its website or in the store about the benefits of juice cleanses.
Roots Juices is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
