Ritter Communications has started construction on its new cloud and data storage facility, located at its Jonesboro campus.
The 8,900 square foot facility, which will be named the Ritter Communications Data Technology Center, represents an $8 million investment in Northeast Arkansas. It is located at 1765 Mayfield Drive in Jonesboro, behind the headquarters building.
This data center will provide a state-of-the-art network operations center, data security and privacy certifications, as well as cloud solutions for Mid-South business customers.
Alan Morse, Ritter Communications president, was on hand at the groundbreaking to welcome business and community leaders.
“There’s a worldwide trend for IT infrastructure to move away from dedicated corporate facilities and into multi-user facilities like this one we’re building as businesses look for ways to manage their IT environments more efficiently and effectively,” he said. “We believe that our investment in this facility will enhance economic development opportunities because when companies consider our region for expansion or relocation, they want to see fiber-optic data connectivity and secure data center facilities. Now, Ritter Communications can offer both.”
Currently, the facility’s construction is scheduled to be completed by mid-2020. CTA Architects, a Colorado architectural firm has provided design and engineering services while Nabholz Construction of Conway is jointly managing the project with the architects.
