Ritter Communications is continuing its expansion across Arkansas, with a move into the Morrilton market.
The Jonesboro-based broadband provider is expanding to Morrilton as part of a $4 million effort.. As part of this expansion, Ritter will be the first company to provide XGS-PON service in the area, offering up to 10 gigabits per second of fiber connectivity for business customers.
This expansion is part of a previously announced effort, which is bringing broadband to Augusta, Bald Knob and Lonoke.
Ritter will also be establishing a local customer support team to oversee technical support. Business customers will also have access to custom cloud solutions from Ritter’s Data Technology Center. This data center, opened in November 2020, is a multi-user data and cloud storage facility located in Northeast Arkansas that offers offsite data and IT infrastructure storage.
“We’ve seen dramatic changes in the last year in the way businesses utilize the internet, meaning true 100 percent fiber internet has become less of a luxury and more of an operational necessity,” Ritter Communications CEO Alan Morse said in a statement. “We see the demand for high-quality broadband in Morrilton, with 30 businesses ready to connect, and we look forward to expanding our 100 percent fiber internet services to more in the Morrilton business community.”
In March 2021, Ritter announced plans to expand to Lonoke to bring its broadband services to the Central Arkansas community. In the past year, Ritter Communications has also expanded to Pine Bluff with a $2.8 million investment, Arkadelphia, and to Texarkana with a $16 million investment.
Morse said that the company will begin turning up zones in Morrilton in May 2021 as part of their expansion into the city.
