The Razorbacks will play Penn State in the Outback Bowl in New Year’s Day, according to a report from insider Brett McMurphy.
Arkansas finished the regular season 8-4 and tied for third in the rugged SEC West. McMurphy, formerly with CBS Sports but now with Action Network, is considered one of the most reliable college football reporters in the business. This would mark the program’s first trip to the Outback Bowl in Tampa, played in Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL’s Buccaneers.
The Hogs finished 21st in the final College Football Playoff rankings. Penn State finished 7-5 and in fourth place in the Big Ten East behind Michigan, Ohio State and Michigan State.
