Pulaski County Friends of CASA, along with County Judge Barry Hyde, held the 27th Annual Judge’s Cup CASA Classic, a celebrity tournament, on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Eagle Hill Golf Course in Little Rock. The Judge’s Cup CASA Classic is CASA’s largest fundraiser each year and directly supports their mission to serve each child in the foster care system.
There are approximately 580 children in foster care in Pulaski County. Pulaski County Court Appointed Special Advocates is a non-profit welfare organization for abused and neglected children. The nonprofits acts as a voice for children in foster care.
Participation in the celebrity golf tournament supported the work of recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers who advocate for the best interest of children in foster care.
This year, local celebrities included Judge Barry Hyde, Ken Turner, James Rouse, Walt Coleman, Ray Tucker, Gary Adams, Tom Mitchell, Mark Miller, Donna Terrell, Ron Calcagni, and Tim Gunter.
Mark Miller was a Hole-in-One winner at this year’s tournament. This year’s winning team was from Hodge, Calhoun, Giattina Attorneys and included Sam Ledbetter, Tim Giattina, Edward Zellmer, and Ryan Applegate.
