On Thursday, Sept. 5, Be Pro Be Proud will launch its 2019-2020 Workshop Tour and reveal the new Be Pro Be Proud Mobile Workshop
Be Pro Be Proud, a workforce initiative spearheaded by the Associated Industries of Arkansas, encourages Arkansans to consider vocational training and provides opportunities, including training and workshops, for job seekers, employers and more.
During the kick-off event, officials will reveal the Second Generation Be Pro Be Proud Mobile Workshop. The Workshop tour will be presented by Union Pacific Railroad.
Using the Mobile Workshop, Be Pro Be Proud is able to reach companies and schools across the state, bringing information about skilled job training directly to students.
The event will be held Thursday, Sept. 5, starting at 10 a.m., in the Governor’s Hall IV of the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.
According to Be Pro Be Proud’s website, more than 82 percent of manufacturers have a “moderate or serious shortage” of skilled workers. As more skilled workers age, this shortage may become more acute. Almost half (49 percent) of skilled workers are 45 years or older while only 33 percent are under 45.
