Sam Pittman has extended his contract as the Arkansas Razorbacks’ head football coach.
Arkansas athletic director and vice chancellor Hunter Yurachek and Pittman agreed to the extension, which keeps Pittman at the University of Arkansas through the 2025 season. Pittman originally signed a five-year contract in 2019.
Yurachek characterized the extension as a “total reset” of Pittman’s contract, according to a Whole Hog Sports report.
A Saturday Down South article revealed that Pittman receives $3 million per year as the Razorbacks head football coach. He also receives bonuses based on performance, such as winning certain numbers of games in a season. In that article, SDS reported that there were plans to give Pittman an “automatic one-year extension” if he led the team to a bowl game.
