“Party at the Plaza,” a community-oriented celebration of food, art, music and family fun will take place Saturday, April 23rd, at the Argenta Arts District and Argenta Plaza on Main Street in North Little Rock. The event, which is produced by the Arkansas Hospice Foundation with proceeds benefiting the mission of Arkansas Hospice, will run from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and admission is free.
The Argenta Plaza Mainstage will feature concerts with headliners such as American Idol winner and Arkansas native Kris Allen, and Jason D. Williams. Other performers include The Rodney Block Collective, The Salty Dogs, The B-Flats, and The Rocktown Sparks. Additional activities at the Plaza Mainstage will include awards ceremonies and contests, such as the Paw-ty at the Plaza Dogtown Dog Costume Contest.
“We’re excited to partner with the Argenta Arts District to bring this wonderful community event for everyone to enjoy. We want to support the re-emergence of those areas hit the hardest by the economic impact of COVID-19 – the arts and the restaurant and hospitality industry,” said Arkansas Hospice Chief Philanthropy Officer Shannon Boshears. “While we encourage the community to support these areas at the event, it will also benefit the mission of Arkansas Hospice to bring care to Arkansans in need of compassion and end-of-life care. Together, this is all very much a celebration of life and the things that bring meaning to us.”
Main Street between 6th and 4th streets will be blocked off to accommodate the festivities, and Artists on the Avenue, an impressive showing by up to 20 of the region’s premiere artists will be on display. Children’s and family-friendly activities in the area will include appearances by well-known characters, story time and a “Memory Sidewalk” where tributes to loved ones can be expressed in chalk. Family activities will run from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with artist’s works on display for the entirety of the event.
Party at the Plaza co-chairs are the brother-and-sister team of Charles A. Frueauff Foundation President, David Frueauff, and Vice President of Communications and Programs, Anna Kay Frueauff.
