The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank officially broke ground on its newest campus in NWA last week. With the location spanning over 15 acres in Lowell, it will also include the Center For Hunger Relief, which is scheduled to open by the beginning of 2024 at latest.
The Center for Hunger Relief will be an 82,425 square-foot facility and will have the capacity to serve more than double the number of people that the Food Bank currently serves. This center will be the central distribution facility, supporting all Food Bank operations in addition to serving as a hub for community engagement.
In providing room for expansion in the future, the “Food for Today. Hope For Tomorrow” campaign will continue. According to the campaign, one in seven in NWA are hungry and the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank is committed to making basic needs, such as nutritious food, accessible. The campaign is $25 million and supports the plans for the Center of Hunger Relief.
