The Arkansas Business Hall of Fame board is accepting nominations for the 2019 class of leaders who “have made a lasting contribution to business and their communities”. Four new members are inducted into the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame each year and an event is held to honor the new inductees at the Statehouse Convention Center.
The deadline for 2019 nominations is quickly approaching at July 31st 2018. If you haven’t nominated someone yet and would like to- now is certainly the time.
According to the University of Arkansas “The Sam M. Walton College of Business established the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame to recognize Arkansans – by birth or by choice – who have been successful business leaders.”
The selection committee looks for “outstanding leadership in establishing, building or running a business; improvements made to his or her community; and evidence of the highest level of ethics.”
Inductees of previous years include Winthrop Rockefeller, William T. Dillard II, Donald W. Reynolds and Jackson T. Stephens.
The Hall has been created to honor the names and outstanding accomplishments of business leaders who contribute lasting fame to Arkansas. However, equal consideration is given to leaders whose achievements have been inside or outside of the state.
Specific criteria for selection and a complete list of past honorees can be found here. Living inductees must be at least 60 years of age and nominations are not limited to graduates of the Sam M.
