A new recreation concept is about to call the old Conway Block Plant home. The Block Plant is located at 565 Front Street in Conway.
AMP reported last month that Eagle Rock Capital had recently closed on the purchase of the Conway Block Plant, with plans to convert the facility into “the coolest entertainment and recreation spot in the state of Arkansas.”
A resolution recently passed at the Historic District Commission meeting in Conway to remodel the Block Plant downtown, located by the railroad tracks and St. Joseph’s Catholic School.
A Conway resident outlined some of the upcoming changes in a Facebook post based on publicly disclosed information he found.
“The developers have stated it to be different than anything currently in town. The new establishment, Conway Social, is planned to be a 20,000 [square foot] restaurant with indoor/outdoor dining options, and It will even have indoor and outdoor pickleball courts among its features,” he wrote. “They’re ready to start construction ASAP once the next steps in the process are approved. Great to see this closed old plant space come to life.”
An Eagle Rock spokesperson confirmed the updates mentioned in the Facebook post.
In a rendering of the location, three indoor courts are depicted, which can be used all year long.
“We’ll have one outdoor court. We’ll also have a rooftop bar, live music stage, a Top Golf simulator, and almost 4,000 sqft of covered turfed area. It’ll be great for baggo, outdoor movie nights, and corporate events. We’ll also have a third-story private dining room. Overall, we’re estimating this to cost $6 million at this location,” the spokesperson said.
