The Arkansas National Guard has been mobilized to transport COVID-19 patients to an isolation facility.
On Tuesday, July 14, the National Guard announced that 14 medics had been called to active duty by order of Gov. Asa Hutchinson. These medics will be responsible for transporting COVID-19 patients to an isolation facility located near the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at Little Rock.
This facility is reportedly designed for individuals who are unable to isolate at home. A National Guard news release did not provide additional details on the facility.
The medics will be working in 12-hour shifts around the clock on the patient transportation. This effort is slated to last 30 days, beginning on July 14.
