Northwest Arkansas, make some room. The popular family-owned restaurant, McClard’s Bar-B-Q, is set to open a new location in Rogers soon.
The restaurant owners expect the doors to open sometime in April 2021.
Plans for the new location have been in the making since September 2020 when Hunter Thomason, co-owner of the Rogers location, and Lee Beasley and Dean Jennings, current owners of the original location in Hot Springs, discussed potential growth for the McClard’s brand. This new location in a growing part of the state is intended to keep the beloved barbecue institution’s name going for another century.
The new location is at 5001 W Pauline Whitaker Parkway, Suite 100. The owners are working to ensure that the experience at the new restaurant in Rogers is as close to the original location as possible. The menu will be the same but with the addition of a few new salads, kids’ meals and chicken will be served every day, not just on Thursdays.
“We are doing everything to make it feel like Philip and Scott McClard are back in the kitchen cooking. Our team is making the experience as authentic as humanly possible,” said Thomason.
A set opening date has not been announced as the Rogers location is training the new staff to provide the best service for customers.
The past year has seen a whirlwind of changes for the Arkansas barbecue favorite, with Beasley acquiring the Hot Springs restaurant in May 2020. Former owner Scott McClard, who was the fourth generation of his family to own the restaurant, continues to manage Hot Springs location.
