The complete tournament bracket for the 2022 Maui Jim Maui Invitational has been announced, and the Razorback men’s basketball team will face Louisville in their opening game on Nov. 21 at 4:00 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
Texas Tech and Creighton, both making their first-ever appearance at the invitational, will face off prior to the Hogs and Cardinals matchup. In the bottom half of the bracket, Ohio State will face San Diego State, and Cincinnati will go head-to-head against Arizona.
For the last two years, the event has been held on the mainland due to the pandemic. This year, the tournament will return to Maui’s Lahaina Civic Center.
The Maui Jim Maui Invitational has become synonymous with buzzer beater finishes and epic upsets, setting the tone for the trajectory of these top programs and their seasons as a whole. Teams participating in this tournament have traditionally made impressive runs, with 70 of the 82 NCAA Championships belonging to teams that have competed in Maui.
Each of these teams will have something to prove coming into the invitational. Six of this year’s eight programs made the 2021-22 NCAA tournament, with Texas Tech and Arizona advancing to the Sweet 16 and Arkansas making it to the Elite Eight. Arizona and Cincinnati are also two of the top 12 all-time winningest schools in NCAA history.
The tournament will run from Nov. 21 – Nov. 23. All 12 games of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU, and also available on the ESPN App.
