Pulaski Academy has a new head football coach.
Former Arkansas Razorback star Anthony Lucas is taking the head job for the Little Rock private school. He succeeds Kevin Kelley, who had served as Pulaski Academy’s head football coach since 2003.
Lucas played for the Razorbacks from 1995 to 1999 as a receiver. During his collegiate career, he accumulated 137 receptions for 2,897 yards and 23 touchdowns. He has been inducted into the Arkansas Hall of Fame.
He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2000. He played for both Green Bay and the Dallas Cowboys before retiring from the NFL after three years.
Lucas had served as the wide receivers coach and junior high team head coach before landing his current role.
Kelley left Pulaski Academy to take the head coaching role at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. Kelley joined Pulaski Academy in 1997 and racked up nine state championships and a record of 216-29-1 since becoming head coach.
Pulaski Academy also named Jason Wyatt as the new athletic director with Madison Taylor serving as the assistant to the athletic director, assistant head coach and defensive coordinator. Adam Thrash will serve as the team’s new offensive coordinator.
