Chris Kane, who has brightened up the morning for years now on KATV’s “Daybreak,” has joined Delta Solar, a solar-energy systems provider based in Little Rock. Leaving behind nearly twelve years in Arkansas sports journalism and morning news, Kane’s new role at Delta will be that of a business development representative.
“We are excited to welcome Chris Kane to Delta Solar,” said Douglas Hutchings, Ph.D., CEO of Delta Solar. “We tend to have a different philosophy than most when it comes to developing and delivering on a solar project. Chris shares the same focus on long-term relationship building and is a valued addition to the team.”
Kane announced his departure from KATV over social media last month, saying, “It’s been an amazing run. From starting as an intern in the sports department with Sully, Dale Nicholson III and Anthony Eckert, to having the opportunity to do “Daybreak” with Melinda Mayo and Alyson Courtney, it’s been an experience I’ll never forget.”
In the recent announcement from Delta Solar, Kane was quoted as saying: “During my career as a journalist, I was able to travel the state and develop relationships with Arkansas’ community and business leaders. I am looking forward to this new role to help expand Delta Solar’s reach delivering world-class solar energy systems and service. Most importantly, I am excited to help deliver sustainable benefits for clients.”
