The Arkansas Department of Health will begin administering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at Local Health Units throughout Arkansas.
This Moderna vaccine roll out is slated to begin next week. The vaccine, which is administered in two doses spaced one month apart, is available to anyone in Arkansas age 18 and older.
As of Thursday, April 22, there were 323,947 partially immunized individuals in Arkansas and 664,608 fully immunized individuals. The state has received 2,386,820 vaccine doses and has administered 1,599,699 doses for a 67 percentage.
In the Thursday, April 22 report, there was a total case count of 334,222 COVID cases since the beginning of the pandemic. Across Arkansas, there were 1,923 active COVID-19 cases.
To obtain a vaccination appointment, individuals can contact a Local Health Unit, and after-hours appointments can be scheduled on Tuesdays. The vaccines will be administered at no cost, but patients are encouraged to bring insurance cards to the health unit.
