In open court on Tuesday, Little Rock lawyers admitted the city illegally withheld public records from Blue Hog Report blogger, Matt Campbell, who has and open-records lawsuit against the city.
According to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, many of these records involved Mayor Frank Scott, Jr.’s LITfest project, a music festival that was canceled just days before it was supposed to kick off – the cancellation stemming from alleged contract violations on behalf of the festival’s organizer, Think Rubix.
An attorney representing the city has confirmed there are approximately 30,000 pages of record that Campbell requested, and is entitled to through the Freedom of Information Act, but he has yet to see them.
Circuit Court Judge Morgan Welch has ordered the city to hand over batches of records on a court-mandated timeline. If the city fails to do so, Welch said he will order Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. to testify.
