Costco has set an official date for the opening of its first Arkansas store, located in west Little Rock.
The store will be opening on Wednesday, July 21 at 10 a.m. Costco will be located at 16901 Chenal Parkway in Little Rock.
Costco has had a July opening for the store but has remained vague on the exact date. In a previous report, Arkansas Money & Politics reported that the membership-only retail company planned to open the store on July 26.
Based on concept designs by Seattle, Wash.-based architecture firm MG2, the Costco building will sit on a 31.81 acre site, and the store itself will occupy 21.22 acres. The building concept designs list the building as having a total square footage of 165,153 square feet, which includes 155,580 square feet of warehouse space; 3,950 square feet for liquor sales; and 5,623 square feet for a vestibule. The designs also list 741 parking spots with 724 regular spots and 17 handicap accessible spots.
There are multiple other Costco store openings set for July, including one in Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Moore, Okla., as well as one in Moriyama, Japan.
