KJ Jefferson, quarterback for the Arkansas Razorbacks, visited today (July 28) with youth members of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Arkansas, then with students at the Little Rock Christian Academy in two events to speak with students about the importance of oral safety and keeping your smile healthy, according to an announcement from Westrock Orthodontics. Jefferson also took time to take pictures with kids and sign autographs.
The events were presented by Westrock Orthodontics, an oral health care provider affiliated with Rock Dental Brands. Jefferson signed a deal earlier this year with Westrock to allow them to use his name, image and likeness.
“If I can be a role model and make a positive impact on a kid’s life, I want to do it,” Jefferson said. “That’s one reason a partnership with Westrock is a great fit for me. I want to let these kids know that you only have one smile, and it’s important to take care of it and keep it healthy.”
In addition to featuring Jefferson as an example and role model for oral health, Westrock also distributed free mouthguards to children in attendance at both events, as well as making a $1000 donation to the Boys and Girls Club in appreciation for hosting the event.
“This event was a win-win. It was such a treat for the kids to meet KJ and ask about his college football career, while at the same time taking on a discussion about protecting your smile,” said Cindy Doramus, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Arkansas. “Oral health impacts your whole body, including mental wellbeing. Healthy lifestyle is a key focus in the work we do with youth here, so we were thrilled to work with Westrock Orthodontics on this event.”
