Every year, Junior Achievement of Arkansas helps to prepare the leaders of tomorrow by teaching students about how money, careers and business work. Junior Achievement connects K-12 students with successful men and women who serve as role models from whom they can learn.
And it’s working. Last year alone, the organization impacted roughly 13,000 students across the state. Since JA’s establishment in Arkansas in the mid-1980s, approximately 276,000 students in Arkansas have been touched by Junior Achievement’s programs.
Now you can help to continue this legacy simply with a fun game of bowling.
This year, Junior Achievement of Arkansas is holding a ‘Turkey Bowl’ to raise funds for its educational programs. Teams of five can sign up to participate in the Turkey Bowl, which will be held at North Little Rock’s Millennium Bowl, and raise money for the cause.
Currently, the goal is to raise $47,650 for Junior Achievement of Arkansas.
Each team will receive two bowling games, food and drinks. Team members will also get to bowl a frozen turkey – the winner receives a Thanksgiving turkey.
Participating in Turkey Bowl is easy: Build a team of five bowlers; pick one of two available time slots; pick a team name; register to bowl; then start raising money. The sixth step is to have fun bowling. The two time slots for Turkey Bowl are 1:30 to 3:30 pm, and 4 to 6 pm.
Event sponsorships are available for Turkey Bowl. The presenting sponsor is CenterPoint Energy, co-presenting sponsor is Windstream, t-shirt sponsor is “Arkansas Money & Politics” and “AY Magazine,” food and beverage sponsor is Marco’s Pizza, and the Turkey Lane sponsor is BKD CPAs and Advisors. Other sponsors include: Arvest Bank, AT&T, Bancorp South, Bank of America, Big Red, Cargill, CFO Network, Eagle Bank, First Electric Cooperatives, Gill Ragan Owen, Harmoni Towers, Imperial Ice, Innovation Hub, iProv, MHP/ Team Si, Mitchell Williams Law Firm, New American Funding, PC Hardware, PwC, QualChoice, and Relyance Bank.
Registration is $50 per bowler, and $250 for a full team. Make sure you are signed up so you can strike out! The Turkey Bowl will be held Friday, Nov. 19, at Millennium Bowl in North Little Rock.
