Just a few months in and Josh Throne has found his calling at MD Hair Labs. From his early start as a player-manager for the NFL to starting up his own marketing agency while selling real estate and appearing on Pig Trail Nation, Throne has had more than his fair share of dream careers. But, it’s his new job at MD Hair Labs that has him feeling the happiest he’s ever been at work.
Having joined the Rogers-based practice as partner and COO in October 2021, Throne said “It’s been the best experience in my professional career.” He attributes his contentment to founding physicians, Dr. Missy Clifton and Dr. Lance Manning, whom he said are “two of the greatest people I’ve ever met –great partners – and I just really love working with them.”
As COO, Throne handles all things marketing and operational. This includes everything from branding MD Hair Labs as a high-end hair restoration destination to formulating a vision for their first-class treatment.
“We’re really trying to establish what our brand is from the patient standpoint and what that experience is like,” he explained. “This is a purchase that is not cheap. It’s obviously an investment, so we want to make sure we not only give them the best product for their hair, but we also give them a luxury first- class experience.”
Throne is working on creating packages that would rival a Beverly Hills experience with hotel and car service for out-of-town patients.
Before landing at MD Hair Labs, Throne co-founded and led Craft SEO, a marketing agency in Little Rock that focuses on web development, content creation, search engine optimization and social media. He left the agency in the capable hands of his partner, and lucky for MD Hair Labs, brought all his savvy marketing skills up to Northwest Arkansas.
According to Throne, his ability to be on site all day every day and focusing on growth while learning from Drs. Clifton and Manning, has been the ideal situation. It has allowed the team to move quicker in the right direction.
“Josh has already made a powerful impact on the growth trajectory of our business,” she said.
Clifton and Manning are both very well-known and highly respected physicians in the Northwest Arkansas region. Clifton built Premier Dermatology, a successful practice with three locations. Manning leads the Ear, Nose and Throat Centers of the Ozarks as surgeon and CEO. Together, they started MD Hair Labs in 2020.
Throne said he’s had to lean on the two doctors who have prior experience in building “amazing practices that are built on patient experience.”
“It’s been a joint effort, but I’ve definitely been able to add some value in the marketing advertising and search engine optimization world to make sure we’re found easily.”
Part of the message Throne wants to get across is that MD Hair Labs is the only practice in the state that incorporates robotic and artificial intelligence technology into hair transplantation. This makes the hair transplant more accurate with no scarring. He also said he’s on a mission to get the word out about the smaller services they offer. Many people are unaware that, although MD Hair Labs is marketed as a high-end destination, it also offers some less expensive treatments as well. Throne is keeping busy working on testimonial content and promotional material about their platelet rich plasma, red light therapy and hair growth vitamins which he says we should all be seeing soon.
