Former Pulaski County election commissioner Josh Price of Maumelle on Wednesday announced his candidacy for the 2022 Democratic nomination for Arkansas secretary of state.
The office currently is held by Republican John Thurston.
Price said he is running to protect the voting rights of all Arkansans. “Out of touch politicians are making it harder for people to vote. That’s just not right. Rural voters, seniors, single mothers, working-class Arkansans — they’re all facing new hurdles to exercising their American right to vote.”Â
A native of Delight and a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas, Price is a small business consultant who most recently worked with the U.S. Small Business Administration as public information officer for Arkansas. He previously served as the digital communications director and policy advisor for the Delta Regional Authority, an independent federal agency, and as director of development for the University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College Foundation.
