The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana’s Laura Clark is transitioning into the role of interim chancellor beginning July 6.
University of Arkansas System President Dr. Donald R. Bobbitt selected Clark to serve in the role on June 17 with the approval of the University of Arkansas’s Board of Trustees. Clark, who currently serves as the chancellor for academic affairs at UAHT, will take over for the current Chancellor Chris Thomason.
“With her many years of experience, Laura Clark has a good understanding of the challenges that students face, and she desires to help UAHT do the best it can to help students achieve their educational goals,” Bobbitt said in a statement.
Clark has served the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana community for more than 25 years. Along with her role as chancellor for academic affairs, she has acted as the dean of health professions, practical nursing program director, full-time practical nursing instructor and more.
“As this campus prepares the search for a new chancellor, I’m committed to ensuring that faculty and staff will continue moving forward with the high standard of service and innovative culture that Chris Thomason had in place here for many years,” Clark said.
