The Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism has announced changes for the host location and dates for the 2019 Governor’s Conference on Tourism.
According to Arkansas Tourism Director Jim Dailey, the conference will be held in Hot Springs on February 24-26, 2019. In a press release, Dailey says the department is working with Visit Hot Springs to prepare for the conference.
The new dates for the Governor’s Conference on Tourism coincide with the annual Travel South Showcase, which will be held in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Feb. 24-27.
Originally, the conference was set to be held in El Dorado during March. However, the conference planning team made the decision to move the event as a result of inadequate space for the conference.
In a prior press release, Dailey expressed his disappointment that El Dorado would not be the host location. “The community of El Dorado has been wonderful to work with during our initial planning for the conference. They are just as disappointed as we are that the Governor’s Conference will not take place as originally planned.”
