As autumn rolls through, COVID-19 case numbers and hospitalizations continue to rise throughout Arkansas.
On Monday, Nov. 9, Arkansas set a new single-day high for hospitalizations for COVID-19. There were 786 hospitalizations reported, an increase of 45 from Sunday. The Monday total broke the single-day hospitalization record established the previous day when there were 741 hospitalizations reported.
There are currently 116 individuals on ventilators, an increase of 13 from Sunday.
Throughout the pandemic, there have been 7,496 hospitalizations for COVID-19. The Monday hospitalizations account for approximately 10.49 percent of the total number since the pandemic began.
The Arkansas Department of Health also reported 945 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total number to 122,811. This number includes 829 new confirmed cases and 116 new probable cases.
Active cases are currently at 12,488 across Arkansas with 9,957 being confirmed and 2,531 being probable.
The death toll due to COVID-19 has grown to 2,108, an increase of 23 from yesterday. This number consists of 1,930 confirmed deaths and 178 probable deaths due to COVID-19.
