Pulaski County Circuit Clerk Terri Hollingsworth will face no opposition in the 2022 Democratic primary or the general election. By noon on Tuesday March 1, no candidate had officially filed to challenge Hollingsworth in her bid for re-election. Hollingsworth has served in the position since 2019 and officially filed to run for re-election on Tuesday, Feb. 22.
The county clerk serves as the voter registrar and real estate recorder for Pulaski County. The clerk’s office works closely with attorneys and title companies to record and index every land transaction conducted in Pulaski County. The office also provides administrative and record-keeping support to the 17 circuit court judges in Pulaski County. Pulaski County is one of only 18 Arkansas counties to have a combined circuit and county clerk.
“I think my record speaks for itself,” said Hollingsworth. “The fact that I face no opposition this year is a testament to the accomplishments of our office and my 90 person staff. We have been working around the clock to ensure that Pulaski County residents are properly served at the courthouse and know how, when, and where to vote. We have faced many challenges during my first term, and the COVID-19 pandemic strained our office, but we faced these challenges head on and overcame them.”
Hollingsworth previously served as the director of the State Board of Election Commissioners and the chief administrative officer for the Delta Regional Authority, which serves communities in eight states and 252 counties and parishes. She is the daughter of distinguished civil rights attorney Perlesta Hollingsworth and longtime community organizer Ada Hollingsworth. She is a graduate of Howard University in Washington D.C. and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Hollingsworth holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She currently lives in Little Rock with her son, Joshua.
