On Friday, Dec. 2, Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Clinton Foundation Vice Chair Chelsea Clinton will convene national and global leaders for an international summit entitled, “Women’s Voices, Women’s Votes, Women’s Rights.”
The summit will address a wide array of modern issues such as the maternal health crisis, reproductive rights, young women voters, the rights of Iranian women and more.
Each of these issues will be discussed in a series of sessions featuring prominent women from both the public and private spheres, including Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, Julia Gillard, former prime minister of Australia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf former president of Liberia, Christy Turlington Burns, founder of Every Mother Counts, and many others. Zerlina Maxwell, host of Mornings with Zerlina on SiriusXM; and Paola Ramos, correspondent for Vice and contributor to Telemundo and MSNBC, will serve as program emcees.
The summit will be presented in conjunction with a multimedia exhibition of the same name, in which the work of many different artists will explore the risks that women have taken over the past two centuries to win the vote, expand democracy and elevate human rights.
The summit will be streamed live, and students, educators and school groups are encouraged to register to participate at the Clinton Foundation’s website, where you can also find the full schedule and list of participants.
