Hendrix College has landed the largest gift in its history with a $15 million donation from the Windgate Foundation. Of the total Windgate gift, $10 million will support endowed scholarships for Hendrix students.
“We are grateful for the support of the Windgate Foundation,” Hendrix president W. Ellis Arnold III said in a statement. “More than ever, it is critical that we continue moving forward, to meet today’s challenges and to continue to be a leader in higher education in the future.”
This award comes as the college continues its capital campaign, which has raised $129 million to date. The goal for the campaign was originally $110 million, and the campaign goal has been increased to $150 and will continue to 2023. Hendrix has named the campaign expansion “A Time to Lead: The Campaign for Today and Tomorrow.”
Hendrix will also be launching a “Residence Hall Renewal Project” in the spring of 2021 as part of the campaign expansion.
